January marked the start of Manchester Arena’s 2015 anniversary year and a new integrated campaign was devised to celebrate this event. The campaign needed to emphasise the venue’s Mancunian heritage, celebrate its achievements over the last twenty years and re-engage with past and present audiences.
Using the hashtag #WeAreManchester, the campaign was developed and adopted throughout the venue for use on all internal and external signage, video content, print advertising and branded merchandise.
The campaign has received extensive media coverage – including live broadcasts by ITV Granada Reports and BBC Radio Manchester – and has recently been nominated for Prolific North’s ‘Best Marketing & Communications Campaign Of The Year’. As the campaign progresses throughout this year of celebration I’ll post new content.
Manchester Arena turns 20 in 2015. This presentation I created launched the venue's name change and encouraged it's followers to celebrate by sharing memories of the second busiest venue in the world (Pollstar Results - first quarter 2015).
Manchester poet Tony Walsh - aka Longfella - penned a brilliant tribute to Manchester Arena to mark 20 years of bringing the biggest names from the world of live entertainment to the city. I work closely with the Arena's marketing department to create visuals for this anniversary tribute.
